Fatimah Asghar
My body: bulb
clicked on, heat in the blanket
 the floor of Ullu's
 cluttered office
Aladdin on repeat.
 Ullu away
 on some errand
 I'd fast forward to Jas
-mine handcuffed in red,
 hair long & braided, like
 mine, skin brown: mine,
her low purr in Jafar's slimy
palms, cradling a red red apple.
 Later, Star Wars on rewind
 & replay—my hunger
 Princess Leia clad
in a brass bikini
 play-slave to some
 blubbery toad of a man.
 These women tied
down, licking heels
 men not worthy. Power
 to cage another
 woman: my mouth's
drool, my red red apple.
 When everyone fell asleep
 Their skin, mine
 whimpering over & over
in my light's eye. My body
 a fire in the blank
-et, pulse so quiet no one heard
 me flame.
